The management system of the Jiuhuashan Geopark consists of a regulatory body, a policy-making body, management authority, management departments and technical support units.
The People’s Government of the
Chizhou City of Anhui Province is the policy-making body for the Jiuhuashan
Geopark under the supervision of the Ministry of Land and Resources of the
People’s Republic of China and the Department of Land and Resources of Anhui
Province. The administrative committee of the Jiuhuashan National Geopark of Chizhou,
Anhui Province is the management authority of the Geopark. It has divisions of
office, geoheritage protection, science popularization, geological museum,
finance office, planning and construction, with 132 staffs in total. All
operating expenditure comes from the government’s funding.
The Administrative committee
of the Jiuhuashan National Geopark of Chizhou City, Anhui Province has signed the
technical service contracts with the relevant scientific research institutions,
including the Geological Survey Institute of Anhui Province, China University
of Geosciences (Wuhan), University of Science and Technology of China, and
Anhui Normal University. A technical steering team including managers and
professional technicians has been established for the technical management and
guidance for protecting geoheritages in the Geopark.
