During 30 October – 3 November, 2018, the 4th International Training Course on UNESCO Global Geoparks Management and Development was held at China University of Geosciences, Beijing, China, under the support of the GGN and UNESCO regional offices. Together with delegates from the other global and national geoparks and related administrative bodies and research organizations, delegates from Jiuhuashan Geopark attended the training course.
This course invited top international geopark experts from the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council, Global Geoparks Network Executive Board and other institutions to give lectures. This course focused on geopark management and building, especially on the geo-heritage interpretation system.
The training course was divided into two parts. The first part was the UNESCO Global Geopark management training, held in Beijing for two days. The second part was the facilities and methods of geo-heritage interpretation, which lasted three days Tai 'an, Shandong Province. This training aimed to let the managers of the geoparks understand the concept, standard, declaration and evaluation of UNESCO Global Geoparks and the latest progress of geopark.
